It is doing my head in, every bloody day we get the next lot of stupidity from them. Today's was "let's replace doctors with nurses" - Luxon.

Let’s replace the PM with a supermarket worker, shall we?

They can’t do any worse. And would be much more qualified by virtue of having lived the life of the average New Zealander.

Great article Sapphi!

... It's just one thing after another just now. So important that we're seeing these changes for what they are.

👍💯 Great explanation thanks. Also lots of stories of people at self-checkouts simply scanning a cheaper item &/or missing an expensive one ⁉️ Not sure how all of this works as I prefer dealing with a person rather than having a robot yell at me if I can't work out what to do next 🤬 People need jobs - robot machines have no children or parents to care about 🤷

I have to say this Government (ACT is where it seems to be coming from) is hell bent on diminishing the Judiciary powers in NZ, not only going forward (Regulatory Standards Bill and Treaty Principles Bill) but they are absolutely hell bent on removing our entire history of rulings by judges.

We need to remember, it's the judiciary we rely on to keep the politicians honest, thats why the system has been set up in this way.

They have been making the argument that one vote one person=democracy for a while now. Looks like the groundwork has finally been laid.

Yep. Ordinary people dont really fully understand the delicate balance of power and how important checks and balances. The judiciary have their own issues yes but their presence and position is critical for checks and balances in a working democracy. We are losing that balance right now and its a very deliberate and planned strategy by the right.

And thats precisely why they're undermining the judiciary as much as possible. They simply want free reign.
